PianoDisc has changed their CD format at least twice over the past few
years, and Yamaha has not caught up. The Disklaviers I've tried only play
the oldest of the three formats.

The changes needed to support the two newer formats are rather trivial at
a technical level and could easily be supported by the Disklavier.

Unfortunately, there isn't a reliable way to tell before purchase which
PianoDisc CDs use the newer formats, but one hint you can look for is the
phrase "Silent Drive Plus" on the disc or packaging; any CDs bearing that
marking won't work on the Disklavier until Yamaha issues a firmware update
to support the very latest PianoDisc format.
