Disklavier

I have had my DC3 Mark IV since the end of September 2004. I love it. I
don't play but my sister that has a degree in classical music plays and
records on it all the time.  To my critical, yet untrained ear, I can not
tell the difference between what I heard her play and what the Piano plays
back.  They say that there is a big difference in how u l t r a precise the
Pro models are over the non-Pro models, but I can't imagine it being
something that I personally could appreciate.  I do not believe it has ever
missed the tiniest of grace notes. Maybe someone else can quote the
specifics of its ability to reproduce what it is playing back vs. the Pro
models ability, but as with most digital electronic devices today, they are
so inherently accurate to start with, where and how do you draw the line
between need and excessive need? Remember I am just your average users - not
a recording pro. 

 

Personally I think you already made the most important decision in choosing
a Disklavier.  It is born to be a highly accurate digital instrument - not
an after thought as so many others are!   

 

That being said, I wish that I could have been more patient and had spent
the extra money to have a DC6 instead of the DC3, but at the time my dealer
only had the DC3 available to him.

Hi to everyone,
after 1 year spent thinking (to buy or not to buy...) I am finally
ordering the mytical disklavier.
I'm still in doubt if choosing a DC3 MarkIV normal or Pro.
For what I red differences are very small.... 
- some more precision in very rapid touches for Pro
- built-in apli and speaker for the DC3 MarkIV 
Price is more or less the same, but they need 2 month to process the
order for a DC3 MarkIV and 4 months for the Pro one.

So the questions are:
Is there other changes between them?
Someone playing DC3 MarkIV noted some rapid notes missing or changes
in the sound in the playback?
Suggestions?

You know.... two more months waiting for it are hard to pass!
