Re: [disklavier] Re: MX100 II Main LCD Display Problem and Solution

Glad to hear my post has helped someone else! Yes, the display will be lighted but no text visible unless you get the view angle just right and then it is only a "hint" of text. You will need to have the display replaced. I do not know your technical background but it is not that difficult - two connectors if I remember correctly and a bunch of screws to get at it. If you are not confident in this type of work I would seek professional assistance. If you are in the Chicago area, I could help you with this but otherwise you will need some assistance locally. You can order the part as described in my original post from Yamaha Disklavier technical support. Freddie at Yamaha technical support can help you with this.

Best Regards,

Mike

Mike,

I realize this is a very old message you put into Yahoo Groups.
Nonetheless, I'm hoping you are still here...

I have rec'd an MX100 II recently. While the control unit (player)
operates fine (plays disks and midi in), the LCD screen is totally
blank (like you described). However, my LCD screen is all lit up
(green) but without any text. Is this similar to what you
experienced?

Unfortunately, I cannot use any menus, record, etc. on the player
itself until I resolve this issue. Any advice or information would
be appreciated.

Thanks!
