Hi Roberts,
Thanks for your email. Yes the disklavier works well both with the internal floppy drive which reads yamaha piano solo and piano soft files. As shown in the pictures on ebay, the disklavier can be driven by the Laptop via midi and this way you can play as many songs continuously as long as they can be i the hard drive and using the Juke box facility.Connecting a tone generatorsuch as TG100 or any other keyboard via midi will give you additional back up sounds ifthe file has piano soft type data.
The piano has damage to the soundboard which is not original. The keys and the key bed has been replaced and they get stuck. the cabinet, the piano action and the hammers the harp (iron frame) are just perfect. The cabinetwould be good to hold may be a digital piano keyboard etc. Thats why I have listed it as it is on eaby. If I had the space to keep it I would have it as a second piano with my digital keyboard in it.
The Toshiba laptop has 100's of midi songs that work directly on the disklavier. I dont think I will have the time make a list of all whats there. If you canlet me know what type of songs you like I can may be tell you what the Laptop has.
I like listening to the sentimental, blues and Jazzsuch as Misty, Serenade in blue, Moon river, Blueberry hills, I love paris, Ally cat Fly me to the moon, La Me, Unfogettable, and so on. There are indipendant folders for these types but you can also mix them and make your own . There are folders withClassical Mozart and Chopin andBeethoven stuff, then thereare foldersforElton john, Billy Joel, Madona, Abba, all in all have quite a lot of it. Only problem is to find time to copy them for you as I hardly even have time to list the disklavier parts on ebay, which I hope to do sometime today.
The laptop also has a program called Cakewalk which can be used to arrange tracks and even make piano soft music out of solo piano midi files. This is done by adding tracks for individual instruments. Or simply create new songs and convert them to piano soft. The other main program is the Juke Box in which you can create a play list of the songs you like to play. You can have hundreds of songs in one such playlist folder and get them to play randum orrepeat or loop or at the end. This is handy say if you are having a party etc, as you can get the disklavier to play on with your pree selected songs. The other program is the disklavier unitility which is to convert midi files to Yamaha files.
I will try and see whether I can send you a list of songs I have in the coming week or so but canot promise.
Thanks and best regards
BUDD
