Yes, I have the old non functional display. It is very difficult to test the display without the supporting circuitry of the controller. Try this, at night, in a dark room, turn on the Disklavier in the normal way without putting in a disk. The display should, after about 10 - 15 seconds, display "Insert Disk" See if you can see the individual pixels of the display - if you look very carefully, you may be able to verify that there is a very very faint display of the "insert disk" text. If you can see this, and if it changes when you do insert the disk, there is a strong possibility that the display just needs to be replaced. If you do not see this, it does not mean the display is OK and the problem is elsewhere but that could be the case. The easiest way to determine the problem is to swap the display with a known good one or put your display into a known good controller. Where are you located? Having a background in electronics, I was able to test and replace the display myself. It is not that difficult for someone who is trained in this type of work. I recommend you have a technician look at the unit if you are not familiar with this type of repair. > > My display was blank from the moment I purchased the piano from the previous owner so I do not know how long it was blank or if it went blank suddenly like yours or faded over time. > > Thankfully, parts seem to be available.
