Re: [disklavier] midi to wav

2007-06-04 by Carol Beigel

I just made a similar post on the DUG group. There is
a whole world out there for doing this kind of work,
and several ways to do it. If you use ProAudio Tracks
from www. pgmusic.com, it is called "rendering" and
uses the synthesizer sounds in your computer's
soundcard. A better sound is a VST piano, or virtual
studio instrments. Band in a Box, also from
www.pgmusic.com does VST. So far, the best virtual
piano sound I have found is the GRAND2 from Steinberg,
also now owned by Yamaha. I hope to put details on my
website by the end of the year.

If you have a MarkIII, you can output the data from the
amplifier through a digital audio converter box into
audio editing software , then burn to CD.

Why do this? My father has recorded some music on my
Disklavier and would like to hear the performance on
his car stereo. Also, I have a music teacher client
who owns a MarkIII, and she has each student make a CD
of their performances as Christmas gifts each year!
