Re: [disklavier] Software Upgrade and Internet Radio

Good evening, everyone.

Rob, it would be instructive for all of us to know exactly what trouble-shooting measures you have tried. Various possibilities include:

--remove and then reinstall and firmly seat the Wi-Fi card in the PRC

--do a hard reset of the PRC
(On the back, flip the little toggle to Replace Battery; remove the battery cover and battery; use the stylus to press down in the reset switch; reassemble)

--try holding the PRC close to the I/O center under the piano when trying to reestablish the connection

--turn off all other Wi-Fi devices while trying to reconnect

There is one more item as well: Check to see if the message the screen indicates that the PRC is trying to connect to a DKV device as opposed to a Temp file. If it is trying to connect to a Temp file, there is an other procedure for correcting that problem.

PianoBench

I upgraded and installed version 2.0 on my 6 month old Mark IV disklavier earlier this week after receiving the disks from Yamaha. The upgrade on the media center went fine. However, when I tried to reconnect the pocket controller to get that upgraded, the trouble started. After trying a million different ways and times I still have not been able to get a wireless connection. I called Yamaha and they are sending me the disks for version 1.2 so that I can do a down grade back to 1.2 and then try to upgrade again.

Are any of our fellow disklavier friends having the same problem?

If you know what else I should try, please let me know.

Thanks,

Rob J.

I just installed Version 2 of the Mk IV software. It
is a fantastic update. I also bought an external
wireless set up. It all works great and the new
internet radio feature is fantastic and very good
value for $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year. This will
really add a lot of enjoyment of the instrument.
Highly recommended. Great job Yamaha!

Now if we could just extend the range and battery life
of the controller...
