Disklavier

I am not familiar with the Mark III or the  control box or UX16 USB cable.  

Have you successfully hooked this via hardwire directly yet to verify that it works without 
WIFI?  

I would think it would be feasible, but you  would need software that would  talk to the 
airport express.  The Airport Express works with iTunes via Airtunes mode to transfer 
audio thru Airport Express to speakers connected via audio cable.   The Airport Express 
works with Print Utility software  to print via USB  cable.  I think  in both these cases there 
is software driving the Express base station to transfer thru the various cables.

It might be worth a try  if you already have these cables and control box and Airport 
Express.  

I  felt the Airport Express would  work with Mark IV as I could put the Express as a WDS  
remote to just  act as a transfer of internet  to Mark IV  via ethernet cable and it did.  

Hope you get a more definitive answer.  Since Yamaha sells the UX16 USB to midi cable I 
wonder if they might have some knowledge of how to do what you are trying to do.  Surely 
there are musicians out there that have tried this.

One of the Apple support persons I talked to about connecting the Mark IV  and Apple 
Express  told me that it would  DEFINITELY NOT work, but it did.
