This is where I stand now: I've downloaded so many pieces, I do not know where to start but that is a good thing (and I found my favourite, Rhapsody in blue by Gershwin)! I have a good hifi, but it just does not compare to piano music coming straight from the instrument. The piano needs a good tune up, which will be done this week. And I need to find out how to do the channel programming as Jorge describes, as for the moment I have to edit the files and send all the piano channels to channel 1. Not really a big deal, it is easily done on Gnmidi (although I cannot find the pianodisc fonction ?!?) My question of the day is what the midi out is for on the piano ? Does it mean that GNMIDI sends all the channels info to the DKV, and whatever is not needed comes back through the midi out to be played by a sound card ? Basically, I now want to have all the other instruments on a midi file to be used by a soundcard and sent to the hifi. I'm going to explore the cakewalk software.
