Greetings Joel, You can set up all sorts of networks that will allow transmission of MIDI but nothing will be easy. I have waited for about 5 years for a simple reliable wireless MIDI solution because I didn't want to set up all the remote application stuff. WIDI is plug and play. It has rejuvenated my interest in my pianos. I now have John Farrell's MIDI files playing randomly throughout the day without having to dedicate a computer at the piano and all the care that that involves.
