No. No. No. We've had this over and over again. My biggest complaint is that web forums do NOT give proper threading at all so they are far worse than email lists / newsgroups. A good email client will give you complete threading control over the emails, with proper tree structures so you can see which sub-threads you want to completely ignore and which ones are interesting. It also preserves the thread order because of the tree - something that I've yet to see in any of the decent / popular forum tools. The only thing that a forum tools gives is multiple sub-forums that can be individually read - eg MkIV vs MkIII - but that then makes it harder to read the whole forum (something I like to do - I enjoy reading MkIV comments even though I have a MkIIXG). It also relies on someone to correctly choose a top level structure for the forum topics - something that rarely happens (everyone disagrees) and as a result stuff gets cross posted, linked, or just posted in completely the wrong forum. Please keep it on email. For one thing I can read email lists from anywhere, but I can't easily use forums from work - and again, I know I'm not the only one with that constraint.
