I'm glad you solved the problem and that the assisted living folks can now enjoy their music at background levels. However, one man's mate is another man's person! While I've never used Veloset, I wouldn't want anyone to think badly of Cakewalk--Pro Audio 9, at least. Adjusting note velocities is not only a cinch, there are a number of ways to do it: Select the track(s) to be edited. 1) Pull down Edit/Scale Velocities. You may either scale the selected notes by a percentage, or set them to fixed values. You may also make linear crescendos and decrescendos by merely filling out the dialog box and clicking. And, if you don't like the result, you can Edit/Undo. OR 2) Pull down Edit/MIDI Effects/Cakewalk FX/Velocity and fill out the dialog box. OR 3) If you need to make more sophisticated changes, you can always write and run a CAL script that will change any given velocity value to another. As an example of Cakewalk's versatility, suppose you wanted to change the velocity value of all notes less than 25 to 25. Select the track(s), pull down Edit/Select/By Filter. In the dialog box, click "None", check "Note", in "Max" type 24, click "OK". Now go to Edit/Scale Velocities, type 25 in both boxes, click "OK" and it's done. Now, if someone would just write a Cakewalk plug-in that would display a histogram of the note velocity distribution in a MIDI file or selection, I could be a happy person's mate. ----------------------------------- bnbwv@... wrote: > > Thanks for the reply.
