Hi PianoBench, Everything you said was done but I still do not get anything. Do I need to have the disklavier's drive on something else to recognize the data is coming from an external source? It almost feels like something has to be turned on so the Piano can receive the data sent by the cable. Once again I am using a USB to midi cable I bought from Ebay. The laptop recognizes the cable and installs it once plugged in. When I play the song in VanBasco's jukebox, the light on the cable flashes showing the data is going through the cable but does not seem to enter the piano at all. Help please. Bob, there are a few things to check: (1) It is very easy to confuse which plugs connect to MIDI In and MIDI Out. Try reversing them. (You won't hurt anything if you have incorrectly reversed the connection.) (2) The Disklavier is both a piano and a tone generator. Certain incoming MIDI tracks play on the piano, and all others are played by the tone generator. If the speakers are note turned on, you will not hear the other tracks. (3) To insure that your Disklavier plays the correct tracks on the piano, you need to match the piano's Receive Channel(s) to the MIDI channels to which the piano track(s) are assigned in the MIDI file. Unfortunately, the piano tracks may be on different channels in different files. The simplest way to account for this is to let the Disklavier guess (which it can do correctly about 95% of the time) and set the piano's Receive Channel to PRG(ALL). I have not used the B version of the Mark III. I am guessing that you make this selection in the following way: --Press Function --Use the Right Arrow button to select MIDI Setup and then press Enter --With the cursor next to Piano Part, press Enter --The display will show you the current Piano Receive channel which you can change with the +/- buttons.
