Re: [disklavier] Several Mark IV Questions

Brian,

1) The PRC-100 is strikingly similar (identical?) to a sharp zaurus PDA, see here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharp_Zaurus

So, I'm inclined to believe that the replacement batteries for the Zaurus are what you need...A google search should be able to turn them up. Be aware that there are multiple versions of the Zaurus, so you should start by finding out which one most resembles the PRC-100 (Maybe all of the Zaurus models use the same battery and this doesn't matter so much...) You can probably also source the replacement battery from Yamaha, but I would imagine it would cost more that way...

2) You can control your Mark IV version 3.0 from your computer 2 ways. The first should have been described in your 3.0 upgrade documentation and is refered to as the "virtual" PRC-100. If you can see your piano's shared folders from your computer, you should locate the "dna" share. In there should be a VirtualPRC.html that you can launch. I'll defer to the actual documentation for anything further than that. :-) You can also download and install my DKVBrowser software which allows you to control your piano from the computer as well.

3) I don't know of any "live" players that you can connect to (but I love the idea!). Are you refering to Disklavier Radio?

-Kevin

Subject: [disklavier] Several Mark IV Questions

Hi Everyone,

I have a Mark IV and have a few questions that I can't seem to figure out.

1. Does anyone know where to purchase a new battery for the pda remote and any idea how
much it costs?

2. I've been hearing you can connect the Mark IV to your computer and control it from your
computer? Is this true and can anyone help me to figure out how to do this?

3. I also can't find the information/ instructions on connecting to live players. I get emails
periodically from Yamaha with news flashes of events I may want to listen to.

I have the Ver 3.0 software, wi fi connection.

Thank you!
Brian
