Greetings sjhart110110, getting multi voice MIDI files to play reasonably on a solo instrument can be a real challenge and usually requires editing in a sequencer program. i have written a lot of tools to process files automatically and some of them can be used creatively to get files to play without actually editing in a sequencer. listing out all of the events to a text file is a good start at understanding what is in the file and why it does what it does. my list_midi_events_to_log program is useful for this. you can see the tracks used, the channels used, patch specifications etc etc. you could then use the remap patches and or the remap channels programs to change the relationship between channels and their instrument definitions or to remove events on some channels entirely. -- Best regards, Spencer_Lists Chase mailto:lists@... 67550 Bell Springs Rd.
