Disklavier

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem with the C2 mark4.

There is a small clicking rattle sound that is NOT note specific nor changes in pitch when you play it OR it plays it self... Funny enough the 'rattle' can be almost completely gorn one day and back the next, so I suspect the room environment is effecting it.. its sound is in 2 main areas on the keyboard... the noise is less but still there in silent mode..

My piano tuner seems to just 'blame' both the piano because it has 'extra' stuff that can make noise (not that he is against modern pianos like the disklavier), he in-particular hates the design (under the keys) of this metal long plate that floats on little springs and has a little box with a plastic cover, (I think that's the fibre optic converter) that originally caused a buzzing that he fixed. He also seems to think that I am 'looking into it too much' but as I play by ear I am very sensitive to bad noises on pianos...

Anyway, most of you will just tell me to call Yamaha, but as I am in Australia they are hopless (yes very hopless) and would just make out that I have to pay big $$ for some special yamaha guy to come out... but I am interested to hear from a tech in the group or if anyone else has the same problem!
