Thanks folks for all your replies.  I feel safer going for the generic replacment option. Yamaha quoted me a price of $253.20 but said I might be able to get it cheaper from my dealer. They were right -- the dealer is willing to give me the everyday low price of $130.00  :-) :-):-)
I wasn't a math major, but the online options for around $20 appear better.  I'll confirm with an accountant :-|
