You have to use the router method as the wireless link between the piano and the remote control is dedicated to that application and cannot be access by anything else. An alternative to the wireless router would be a system by a company called devolo (see http://www.devolo.co.uk/uk_EN/index.html for details) This uses your mains circuit to transmit data. This can be especially useful if you get a lot of problems with interference or dropout on your wireless system. You can get this system set up & ready to go from Yamaha - call 08704445575 for details. All you need to do i plud the system into your piano and your router and you're up and running.
