Good morning, everyone. If your Mark II is properly regulated and calibrated, it should not play back more loudly than the original performance at medium and high volume levels. The Mark II does reduce the volume (i.e. hammer velocity) of the very loudest notes, and it does boost the volume (i.e. hammer velocity) of the very softest notes to a minimum MIDI velocity of about 20-25 for grands and about 35 for uprights.
