Hi George, I did what Carol suggested and checked the pedal movement , all seems well there. Attached is a Midi file that was converted from a FIL that I think should contain some pedal. Also googled some midi sequencing programs that show you what's happening. There were many but since I have many files to check I'd like to purchase one that you recommend. I only need one to read the instructions so I can determine what the file contains . Thanks Joseph ________________________________ From: George F. The MIDI message for the sustain pedal is controller 64. When it has a value of 0, the pedal is a rest. When it has a value of 127, it is fully depressed. If there is a value between 0 and 127, that value represents a partially depressed pedal. If the file is a normal ".mid" file, the MIDI data can be checked in a sequencer. If the file is a ".fil" file, the file probably needs to be converted to a ".mid" file in order to be checked with a sequencer. When checking for controller 64 data, one must be certain to look at data that applies to the piano part as opposed to an accompaniment part. If you are able to email the file to me, I can tell you where the piano part has MIDI data.
