Both the DGA1 and the DGP1 Disklaviers use the same control box, DKC55 (Playback only) You should be able to use both 2DD and 2HD diskettes, and play ESEQ, MIDI 1 and MIDI 0 files. Format your disks on your computer using standard IBM full format. You must keep each type on separate disks. Put .fil files (Yamaha ESEQ files) onto a disk that only has these types of files on it. If you have downloaded a MIDI 1 files from the internet, just copy them to a diskette that only has MIDI 1 files on it. Same for MIDI 0. The disks won't play if they have files with mixed formats on them.
