Will this floppy emulator work in a disklavier system?

I was wondering if a floppy drive emulator would work in a disklavier, replacing the existing 3.5" fdd.

I saw these for sale on ebay:

This emulator fools your machine to think it is hooked up to a 1.44mb floppy disk. The zip drive you insert can be any size, but you have to set up folders on the zip drive each no bigger than 1.44mb. Then, you essentially have a number of floppies you can switch to using the buttons on the device faceplate. It's not the greatest solution since you have to switch virtual floppies with this and keep track of what's on which folder, but it still sounds more convenient than dealing with floppy disks. Plus, if you have a bad floppy drive, it might be preferable to replace it with one of these.

Are the disklavier floppy drives anything special or are they really just generic pc drives?
