+++ I keep my MIDI collection on a CD-ROM.  I use long file names such as

02 Brahms Sonata No. 3 in F Minor, Op.5, Mvt 2, Andante Ponochevny.mid

Though the files are in well-named folders, I use Windows' Find/Files feature to
locate them using any keyword in the file name.
