Re: File management questions

Hi Carol

I have a vast collection of DKV disks (54) and even more Yamaha Disk
Orchestra Collection Disks (DOC).
The DOC Disks titles have been typed into a list in Word which will
then sort them alphabetically on Song, Disk or Composer.

What I would like, is to insert the DKV into the A: drive, the
database reads the pianodir.fil file, then reads the titles and put
them in the dadabase. That would save all that typing.

You could always use a dadabase such as Music Library or Keep it
Compact. These are designed for CDs and MP3s but would do for DKLs.
The Music Library dadabase will play MP3s direct from within the
program. I haven't tried, but it may play midi files.

As regards to playing DKV files from the PC yes it can be done of
course, but I haven't seen any programs that will do it yet.

I have a friend who liked my DOC & DKV disks so much that he wrote a
file player for his computer, so he could play the disks without a
piano. Alas, it was for the Atari Computer.

Sorry I misread your question. If you convert all of your DKV files
to Midi then the PC would play the Disklavia via midi.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
