The only problem with the Airport is that it (almost) forces you to use Itunes which is a really terrible media player.

Fortunately there is a free application called Airfoil that allows you to stream audio to the Airport from any application. So you can use the Airport with Media Monkey which is a far superior program. You can even get a MIDI plugin for it and there are ways to add meta data to your MIDI library without entering every data element manually.

I actually prefer to use a dedicated little computer at the piano and use Team Viewer (a remote desktop app) to control Media Monkey from any computer in the world including an Ipod/Pad or Android. I have a blog entry that describes the basic use for an LX piano but it is essentially the same for the Disklavier other than the fact that the DKV does not like MP3 files so you don't have the convenience of MP3 tags.

Absolutely correct! Apple Airport Express is about the size of a pack of cigarettes. Apple support is great. Works with Apple Mac or PC computers. PLUS you can connect A Express mini jack to your piano's speakers. Then you can play your ITUNES library on your computer (MAC or PC) through your piano's speakers. Its great to have a party and have ole Errol Garner coming through the piano. Plus with an IPHONE / IPAD you can use the APP "REMOTE" and control the songs you play throughout the speakers. Great to listen to OR play with the songs as you never leave the bench.

The easiest Ethernet bridge to use is an Apple Airport Express. It plugs right into the powerstrip under the Mark IV (into the unswitched outlet). Take the Ethernet cord and plug into the RJ45 plug (not 75) and go. Easy. There's a one tine network setup on the Airport Express. I explored many options, and this one is the cleanest and neatest. Next best choice for me is a USB powered unit by Netgear. All the others have separate power adapters and you need to find a place to hide the units. The Apple is all in one. BB carries these if they have an Apple department. They also carry, the Netgear.

Regards and enjoy...controlling the DC6M4Pro using my iPad through the Airport Express as I type this!
