Hey Renae, Art is correct, the wifi is only for it's internal purposes for controlling the TRC/PRC's wirelessly. (infact it's very crappy and weak anyway). So you need to connect the piano to the ethernet, you need to use a wireless access point. If you already have wiresless in the house then you can have it transparently connect to that as another device. Let me know if you want any more dissapointments with this piano i'll fill you in. Cheers, Philip ________________________________

Renae,
The piano is equipped with an ethernet connection. With an ethernet network adapter connected, the piano can connect wirelessly to your home network. Check the owner\u2019s manual and you will see a few different devices (e.g. A Buffalo internet adapter) identified.

The easiest Ethernet bridge to use is an Apple Airport Express. It plugs right into the powerstrip under the Mark IV (into the unswitched outlet). Take the Ethernet cord and plug into the RJ45 plug (not 75) and go. Easy. There's a one tine network setup on the Airport Express. I explored many options, and this one is the cleanest and neatest. Next best choice for me is a USB powered unit by Netgear. All the others have separate power adapters and you need to find a place to hide the units. The Apple is all in one. BB carries these if they have an Apple department. They also carry, the Netgear. Regards and enjoy...controlling the DC6M4Pro using my iPad through the Airport Express as I type this! Keep in mind that the internet adapter needs electrical power, so you will need an electrical outlet nearby. You will connect the adapter to the I/O center on the piano using an RJ75 (or equivalent) ethernet connection. > > Art > > > > From: Renae Stritzinger <stritz68@...> > Reply-To: <disklavier@yahoogroups.com> > Date: Wed, 2 Feb 2011 16:16:26 -0500 > To: "disklavier@yahoogroups.com" <disklavier@yahoogroups.com> > Subject: Re: [disklavier] Wifi > > > > > > > Thanks Arthur!! Absolutely correct! Apple Airport Express is about the size of a pack of cigarettes. Apple support is great. Works with Apple Mac or PC computers. PLUS you can connect A Express mini jack to your piano's speakers. Then you can play your ITUNES library on your computer (MAC or PC) through your piano's speakers. Its great to have a party and have ole Errol Garner coming through the piano. Plus with an IPHONE / IPAD you can use the APP "REMOTE" and control the songs you play throughout the speakers. Great to listen to OR play with the songs as you never leave the bench. Dittos S

Thanks everyone!! But I have another tech question. Has anyone used software that you can scan sheet music and convert to midi? I am actually a flautist and have hundreds of piano/flute music. I would love it if my piano could play the accomp. part without having someone come over and spend hours recording them. Thanks again Renae

One good way to go with this is to obtain what is called an "Internet game adapter" (I got mine from Best Buy for $79). It plugs into the Ethernet port and creates a wireless connection to any Access Point or Router. It is about the size of a deck of playing cards. _____
