Re: E3 and DKC-850

2011-03-21 by nehs1975

Thanks Bill for your reply. I'm a little confused because I thought that the DKC-800 is the factory controller for E3 Disklavier pianos, while the DKC-850 is the controller to bring older Disklaviers to deliver "many" of the E3 capabilities.

If the DKC-850 was used as a replacement in order to deliver "many" of the E3 Disklavier capabilities, if not "all", then what E3 capabilities would the DKC-850 be unable to give?.

I would imagine Yamaha would have marketed the DKC-850 to deliver "all capabilities of E3". But, it used the word "many". Understand that Mark II cannot have streaming internet. But for Mark II-XG and above, I'm wondering what are those E3 features that the DKC-850 cannot give.

Same question applies to the pianosoft store: Because they segmented E3 and DKC-850 models, it makes me wonder what media or downloadable content would one play that the other cannot.

Thanks again!

Curious Joe
