And so it begins:

Here's the output from DKVBrowser:

22:16:17:659:V (22) : Client thread got: <system model="DKC850" version="3.00"
language="en" region="en" quiet_control="none" />
22:16:17:857:V (22) : Client thread got:  <rc_certificate
param="E7nopDgaU0VIqKcNFRrLo9OlQUFpdamShJgGluOfsJVSu5E7U3" />
22:16:17:872:V (22) : SendCommand: <rc_certificate
param="U2FsdGVkX1/b3a0737986d5c21af39b5c40276567d5=" rc="iphone" passcode="" />
22:16:17:874:V (22) : Client thread got:  <rc_certificate result="pass" />

The important thing is this:
result="pass"

So, I'm in. Nothing else needs to be discussed on this group. Thanks for all
of the help that has been provided. Further discussion on the DKVBrowser goup.

I did it. After about 4 days of solid work (so much for vacation this week!),
I've figured out the "encrypted" handshake between the DKC-850/E3 and
the iPhone. I also have a pretty good sense of how the iPhone talks to the
"database" on the piano.

You can't believe have pleased I am, and how frustrated I have been over the
passed few days. Oh, and today's my birthday. Not a bad present to myself.
 ;-)

Major thanks to Stefan for showing me what it was supposed to look like. I
spent the majority of the day trying to make sense of what he showed me, and I
finally was able to reproduce the "answer" from the "question."

Now, off to make DKVBrowser actually send the right response.
