Carol, I think that although Yamaha does not promote the use of the DKC-850 with the MX100A/B, I see no reason why it could not replace a DSR-1 that is being used with one of the those instruments. I have heard that certain early model Disklaviers can only be used with a secondary control unit if they have a working floppy drive with a disk inserted. If the drive goes bad, some of the functionality of the DKC-850 will be lost.
