The following steps will get you to the Virtual Remote when the Disklavier doesn't show up in Finder - but won't help with the "FromToPC". Maybe it will stir up some better suggestions. * 1st - go to the DKV and find the IP address of the Disklavier. * to do this - go to the Setup icon (The Red Tool Box on the 3rd page of the main menu screen) * go to Network (2nd page of the setup icons) * Tap on Network * tap on Next and go to the screen that says "Connection Information" * Tap on connection information and you will see the IP address listed. * write that IP address down * Open your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome etc.) on the computer you will be using for the PRC * in the address field type in "http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/prc/index.php" (the x's are the ip address) - don't have any spaces between the last number of the ip address and the /prc/index.php - at typical address may look like 192.168.1.25 so you would type in http://192.168.1.25/prc/index.php * when you hit enter after typing in that information you will go to the download screen of the Virtual Remote * Type in 'root' for the username and 'prcstart' for the password (same as what you have done on the Mac before) * It will download the Java application to the computer after you agree to the terms of license agreement and you will see the Virtual remote start after that Hope that helps a little. ________________________________ From: Kevin Goroway <kgoroway@...> To: "disklavier@yahoogroups.com" <disklavier@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Sunday, July 24, 2011 6:12 AM Subject: Re: [disklavier] Re: Mac Lion: Disklavier Not Visible On second thought, plenty of users (who don't use DKVBrowser) would probably like to see their "FromToPC" folder on their Lion desktop...so I suppose this isn't a bad place to discuss the solution. Whatever we come up with will probably also let DKVBrowser work as well. ________________________________ From: Kevin Goroway <kgoroway@...> To: "disklavier@yahoogroups.com" <disklavier@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Sunday, July 24, 2011 8:03 AM Subject: Re: [disklavier] Re: Mac Lion: Disklavier Not Visible As discussed on the DKVBrowser yahoo group, Apple seems to have removed "samba" from Lion. Samba is an implementation of the technology that shows shared folders on your network. You can probably install samba yourself in Lion and have everything working again...but it might mount the folder in a different location. Someone will have to give it a try and let me know...Please continue the conversation on the DKVBrowser group, though. -Kevin ________________________________ From: Joan <jheitzeb1@...> To: disklavier@yahoogroups.com Sent: Sunday, July 24, 2011 2:37 AM Subject: [disklavier] Re: Mac Lion: Disklavier Not Visible I have experienced the same thing. joan --- In disklavier@yahoogroups.com, "gelsycycle" <georgeall@...> wrote: > > I just upgraded to Mac Lion OS, and the Disklavier doesn't appear in the network anymore. Using DKVBrowser, I can access the PC tab and play songs in that folder, but can't transfer songs between the computer and the piano. >
