Neal, no, you don't have to use a StarTech duplicator. It's is just what I own--so it's just what I used--and what worked for me. It's simple stand-alone device and therefore, it does not require a computer. You just hook up your original drive to the source side and the new drive up to the destination turn it on and start the copy. I did have mine configured to copy the HPA --which may be key. I also copied the whole drive--including any free space. You could always try the other drive imagers that support Linux O.S. I'm sure you know, but just make sure you don't boot up windows with your disklavier's hard drive attached since windows will write to the drive and may corrupt it. MOST IMPORTANTLY, make sure you copy the right way... you wouldn't want to clone your new "blank" drive over the top of your Disklavier's original hard drive--since it will erase it. --- In disklavier@yahoogroups.com, carwizard <carwizard@...> wrote: > > > Great article.
