Re: [disklavier] Adding DKC850 to MPX1

2012-09-03 by Carol Beigel

The DKC-850 does not ship with a floppy disk drive. You can buy a USB floppy drive from Yamaha for about $150. You need a USB floppy drive to put your disks into the Memory of the DKC-850. Then, when you play the CD that goes along with the disk, it will sync. You could even put all your pianosoftplus floppies into the same "album" in the memory.

Hi

I will be geting a DKC850 for my mpx1 (which has the original DKC500R). The new unit opens new possibilities among which the use of yamaha's pianosoft plus audio cds. But it seems it is not possible (yamahamusicsoft.com) to use the smart pianosoft system (floppy + commercial cd); I wonder if there is a workaround the problem , if for exemple the midi data of the floppy is copies on a usb stick ans then loading the cd in the dkc850... would be nice to be able to play this collection which has many interesting titles...

Hints anybody?
