If you are going to use a non-Yamaha USB FDD, I recommend the following:

Iomega #32633
LaCie #706018

These do work with  protected floppies.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
