In-ceiling mounted speakers for the DKC-850?

I suggest you reconsider if there is a bedroom above the place you intend to install them. My 5.1 TV sound system in the family room is all ceiling mounted (Sonos) beneath the master bedroom. If the wife turns in early, it’s headphones only from then on. She is not pleased, at all, with the installation.

If you want amplification at the speaker, you’ll be spending some money with an electrician to power them. I’ve heard you can now get a special back box that will greatly reduce the sound transmission, but I’m not sure who makes it.

I have been using Advent amplified speakers, but I would like a set of recessed ceiling amplified speakers. Any suggestions?

Good point, but my speakers will be under a crawl space in the attic, and my electrician has has already mounted some recessed lighting in the same room. I am having a hard time locating recessed speakers as most are made for intercom systems and are rated at 1 watt.
