Windows7 and DKV utilities

To my great surprise this morning, I was able to get ESEQtoMID and YamPlayer to work on my 64-bit Windows 7 laptop. I have previously stated that I never got anything Disklavier related to to work in Windows 7. The ESEQtoMID is clumsy, only converts one file at a time, and it must be renamed immediately or the next conversion will overwrite it. Yam Player is totally wonderful and will do batch conversions from ESEQ to midi. I know of no software that will do this on a mac. Thank you so much to the person who wrote this program! (Midi Magic?) Once I convert my Yamaha files to MIDI files I will be able to use them on playlists on my iPhone and iPad and play them thru the tiny little interface I mentioned in a post a few days ago. I don't want there to be another argument about why someone would even want to use an iPhone to control a Disklavier. For me, as a piano technician, I simply want to test the Disklaviers I work on, have the capability to bypass the floppy drives, and show my clients possibilities they were not aware of. I also want to thank Spencer for his work in preserving the old piano rolls and making them available. Also, the fellow (Horatio?) for experimenting with the SD emulator. That is really awesome research and I really look forward to some detailed instructions about where to buy the right equipment and how to put our libraries of MIDI files on an SD card and play them on an old Disklavier. Many, many thanks to all of you who contribute so much to this list. Carol Beigel
