Mark II with Internet radio

Mark II with Internet radio

2013-09-21 by fracture

Just finished proof of concept this morning. Bought a mark ii about a month ago. Did not realize it would not play pianosoft plus. Found reference to an old upgrade path to a mark ii xg. Had to start in maintainence mode and check the version numbers of two internal boards. Pk-ctl and hammer sensor the version must be 2.00 or newer. The boards can be purchased from Yamaha. Pk ctl is accessible from under the piano. Hammer sensor is on the action which must be removed to install new board. There is also a 9 to 15 pin sub d connector adapter that must be purchased from Yamaha.
Then install Dkc 500 rxg controller box. Ran adjustment mode and all went well. Next installed the Dkc 850 with its 15 to 15 pin adapter cable. Worked perfect. Added Internet today. Internet radio worked and updated the firmware. Full function.

Only thing is I don't know if I needed to really have the 500rxg attached prior to adding the 850. If anyone needs one I have a brand new one I would love to sell.

Do you have any more details of where you found this reference to the procedure or the part number for the 9 pin to 15 pin adaptor?

Hi
I understand you may have a 500RXG controller for sale.
As I am looking for a UK power rated unit, please advise if it would be suited, and if so the selling price.
