Hello everybody,
I am using piano concerto CD with QRS system with my DKV Mark IV to have real orchestra.
Using local loudspaekers it works very well.
In order to improve the impression of been inside a Concert Hall, I replaced the 2 local loudspeakers by 6 high quality lourspeakers connected with SONOS system. This SONOS system introduces an additional delay of about 250ms (1/4 of second) for the orchestra which is very uncomfortable as orchestra comes late (0.4 sec) after piano...
How can I adjust to compensate such delay ?
Thank you for your precious helpBestJulien

Hi Spencer and Julien, Version 4.0 provides functions for changing piano timing to match delayed video and audio issues. Julien, for your issue try OUTPUT Offset. This should take care of your issue. Instructions are as follows: A-MIDI OFFSET For some display devices, the videoimages may be displayed a little bit later than the piano playing when playing back the DVD software thatcontains the analog MIDI signal. To eliminate this delay, you can adjust the offsettime that controls the actual playback of the piano. A delay is applied to theincoming analog MIDI signal. The offset time can be set in a range of –500 msto 0 ms. Decrease this value to delay the piano. [OUTPUT Offset] For some speakers or digitalamplifiers, the audio from the Disklavier may be output a little bit later thanthe acoustic piano playing. To eliminate this delay, you can adjust the offsettime for the sound output. This setting is applied to the outgoing audio signalfrom the OUTPUT jacks, OMNI OUT jacks, and DIGITAL OUT jack. Decrease thisvalue to advance the sound output. The offset time can be set in a range of –100ms to 0 ms. Decrease this value to delay the piano. Tap on SETUP, then AUDIO I/O. Tap onA-MIDI OFFSET or OUTPUT OFFSET, depending on what you are trying to do. Thenpress the 9:00 or 3:00 positions on the outer ring of the SELECT button toadjust offset time. Bill

DKV uses a 500 ms delay for piano. do you need an additional 250 ms besides this? does anyone know if you can change the 500 ms delay to 750? if not, you could build an analog delay line for the piano channel (or buy one but they ain't cheap) but the simpler solution would be to edit the audio file in a program such as Audacity. you can shift one channel and save the modified file pretty easily.
