Cable to lap top

Cable to lap top

It has been a long time since we connected a laptop to the disklavier-Mark IV. Will someone please remind me what type of cable I need?
Thanks,

She can use a USB cable from the Mark IV to the computer.

The MIDI IN and MIDI OUT port settings in the Disklavier need to be changed from MIDI to USB.

Hi Bill, Do we need a cable with USB on both ends?
How do we change the settings from MIDI to USB?
Thanks,
Linda

Yes, USB on both ends.

To change the Disklavier settings tap on SETUP, then MIDI. MIDI IN comes up. Tap on PORT:MIDI line and press the 3:00 position on the outer ring on the PRC100 to change from MIDI to USB.

Then tap on NEXT to get to the MIDI OUT screen. Tap on PORT:MIDI and change it to USB as you did above.

And, she needs to install the Yamaha supplied USB driver onto her computer.

Kind regards

Geoff
