Piano movers

I have a 5' Disklavier baby-grand. I will be moving from Ohio to Florida and wanted to ask the group who to hire as piano movers. Share your experiences- good or bad. Thanks.

I have used Modern Piano recently and they were fantastic. They know what they are doing with pianos (its all they do) and were professional and courteous. They are a bit more expensive than going to Uship.com, but far less risky. You can go on their website modernpiano.com and receive a binding quote instantly. Good luck with the move.

PS. I would be very careful with uship. I have heard some horror stories about using them. If you do, make sure you contract through them to get the guarantees

If it has a floppy drive, make sure there is a disk in it when moving, it protects the heads.

I used Walter Piano Transport out of Indiana to move my MkIII baby grand from LA, CA to middle Georgia. They did a great job ( it's all they do). Pick up, move, and set up in my home was ~$1200.
