Key pistons, PRC100 "synchronized"

This is actually two questions but please take your pick. My DKM4 has about 4 keys near bottom end of base side don't register sound when using headphones in silent mode. But they work just fine when in normal acoustical playing. Yamaha technician working on problem thinks it maybe "burned out" pistons. But he has not yet fixed the problem with dead sounding keys. Meanwhile, my 2nd question is when he was using the PRC100 controller to troubleshoot the problem on screen it was showing something "Synchronized" and then he ASKED ME what it was? I sometimes use the video streaming playback from Yamaha online website that might be reason but not sure. Sorry such long question(s). Charles
