Mark IV Service manual

Mark IV Service manual

2017-06-02 by 74ukru6d63lcb2upu7bei3gdij3kldvmyzloj4ir@...

Apologies if this message appears a second time not sure if the first one got through it was my first to the group. Forgot the subject line.

Can anyone help me out with access to download a Mark IV service manual.

My recently acquired used Mark IV has failed within a month and has various sequences of flashing lights.

The manual will help me understand the problem before calling out a tech if needed.

Basic things like hard drive or board replacement I can do myself, beyond that I will call in a Tech.

My main aim is to work out what has failed.

I am in Melbourne Australia

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I will post symptoms when I get a chance. Also the solution once found.

Hopefully I can help give some clues if others are having similar problems.

Hi Everyone

Firstly thanks again to Bill Brandon for the service manual it played a big part in solving the problem.

I was able to access the various test modes and menus and narrow down to the most likely cause which turned out to be the AP board. The RAM on the board had failed.

Next decision was repair or replace? After much thought and some consultation with Ted Ramus an independent Yamaha specialist here in Melbourne Australia the decision was made by me to do both which we have done.

The new board went in this morning and worked straight away a huge relief. Ted has now taken the old board with him and when the replacement chip arrives from Japan he will repair that one also. All things being well I will have a working spare if ever needed.

Whilst not the cheapest option I now have a working piano and I am very happy to say the least.

Another note if your considering replacing boards yourself get a quote from your technician first, mine was able to purchase the board at trade price instead of retail and the price difference will more than cover his fee and also gives me some recourse if it fails during the warranty period.

Thanks to the forum for your help

Darren

Hi Daren,

My name is Dmitry and I'm also from Melbourne and looking for a person who can help me with my disklavier. Any chance you can share Ted's details to me (private?)? I would be really happy to talk to him one day.

Thank you,
Dmitry
