DSR reset

2002-04-07 by nettespiano@aol.com

well, i did a stupid thing...
i got button happy and pressed a bunch of buttons and now my DSR does not
allow me to hear anything that i have recorded! the only thing that i can
atribute it to is when i pressed reset which apparently reset it to default
settings? so i have been trying to reset to whatever i had before when it
worked, but to no avail.
 any help would be wonderful!
does this mean that the upgrade flash is lost as well? i can't seem to tell.
please someone advise me...thanks!

Your flash rom upgrade has not been lost.

Is your DSR1 hooked up to speakers? If so, you should hear everything that
you have recorded played back either by the piano itself or by the DRS1's
tone generator, which is output to speakers.

If you do not have speakers hooked up and are recording just piano parts, I
suspect that the DRS1 is playing back the recorded piano track using its
internal tone generator and your are not hearing it. Of course, your
preference is probably to send the piano track to your Disklavier.

If my guesses are correct so far, then you probably have to reset the setting
in the DSR1 for Piano Type. To do so, press Function and use the Right Arrow
button to work your way over to Piano Type.

I don't have a DSR1 manual handy at the moment. If you check the front of
your manual, you should find a section which is devoted to determining which
of the various piano types apply to your situation.

If this does not solve your situation, I'll suggest another scenario.

Regards,

You may have reset both the memory disk as well as the default set up. that
means you would have erased any songs you had recorded in memory.

If you have a DSR1 connected to an older model; make sure the older model is
set to Keyboard OUT for recording, and the DSR is set to keyboard out for
playing. The DSR needs to have the MIDI out set for keyboard out.
