   Todd, Rik and everyone,

WOW! This group is so cool. I stumbled on it by accident and
immediately subscribed. I too now feel more connected!
I'm a techie kind of guy, so I know I'm going to find out
the answers to many of my unanswered questions (I have many)
as well as provide some input of my own. You answered one
of my oldest questions above Todd. Thanks!

Like you, Rik, I am a "black cubist" (not an ethnic reference :)
But I have you beat... I have a DG1. He joined our family
8 years ago (we adopted him)... but lately he's been
   disfunctional.

One of the solenoids were fried and took out some circuitry on
the I/O board in the process (resistors and Driver I.C. if
you're curious) as well as blowing the fuse in the wagon
   (thank goodness for fuses).

The same exact thing happened a few years back and I personally
soldered and repaired the unit and brought it back to life. It
worked fine for the next 3 years but recently it was deja vu all
over again. How curious that the same problem repeated itself.

I have not had the time to repair once more and have debated
whether to even do it... (considering upgrading to newer
   technology).

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced "solenoid frying"
   on their systems?

   Regards from Los Angeles,
   Jon
