English Display for a Japanese Piano

English Display for a Japanese Piano

2003-07-21 by Ralph Specht

Does anyone have a source for the ROM Chip which changes the language for a Japanese Disklavier (MX100) to an all English Display. Also, pricing would be appreciated. Many of the importers advertise the conversion as part of the product, but my titles display in English, but all of the menu items on the display are Japanese.
Thanks.

Hello,
I think you don't need to buy ROM chip, and don't need to pay any penny
to do this. Try to find in the menu and then choose the optional language
"english". As far as I know, the ROM chip has two options.
I did it with my HQ90B-Yamaha which has both titles display and display
in Japanese. Good luck

All Disklaviers a made in Japan. However, only certain models are for sale
in the United States and have UL approval. If you live in the U.S. you will
not be able to get electronic parts or service for a Disklavier that is not
one of those approved models - otherwise known as a gray market item.

If this is an MX100 and not an MX100IIXG you don't even need an English rom
chip as you would have no programmable or upgradable choices anyway.
