Wow, how defensive you are?

All I wrote was: "Isn't this a Disklavier user Group?". That's it. I didn't
say anything else. How can you interpret this as been unfriendly?

My understanding is that the "group" is now combined with
piano disc users
ONE group. Why are you so unfriendly? Maybe you can learn
something.

The Group description as it appears in the eGroup's web site at:

http://www.egroups.com/group/disklavier/info.html
<http://www.egroups.com/group/disklavier/info.html>

Is:

Group Description:
For owners of Yamaha Disklavier pianos to swap non-classical musical
performance files in Midi & E-Seq formats.

[disklavier] Disklavier egroup

2000-02-29 by Dr. Lawrence L. Michel

I don't think Steve's comments were meant to be hostile. I can see how it
is more practical to limit an egroup to a particular subject. We all get
loads of email to sift through and, even though it's easy to hit 'delete',
it still takes time. If there is a PianoDisc egroup then those of us who
wish to subscribe to it could do so. If someone wants to subscribe to both
groups they could do that as well.

This just seems to make sense to me, no offense intended!

[disklavier] Re: Sound Card upgrade for PDS128 Piano Disc Sys tem

2000-02-29 by Hoffman, Steve

This is getting too low for me, so I'm not going to respond any more to this
thread.

Sorry to everybody that my simple question ("Isn't this a Disklavier user
Group?") had to degrade to this.

Over & OUT,

Steve

Hi,

No offense taken!

I was under the impression that the site was open to all as you say. One
of the great things about an open site, of this type, is it can give
ideas to either, or more, group(s) that are interested in this subject.
It appears "some" seem almost threatened by the PianoDisc folks, but I
think it should a case of either Fords or Chevrolets that is: whatever
appeals to an individual.

Sorry I don't mean to "preach to the choir".

No body is threatened by the PianoDisc folks. It is just that some
Disklavier owners, my self included, are not interested in spending any time
on the PianoDisc issues. We are very busy people and thus need to prioritize
what we want to do, and reading about Piano Disk is not one of those
priorities. If I wanted to learn more about it, I could sign-up to it's
designated user-group. It is totally transparent to the user to be a member
of multiple user-groups. Maybe Todd Muncy can initiate a survey to find out
if anybody in this Disklavier group is interested in merging the various
groups. Personally I oppose a merger.

[disklavier] Re: Disklavier egroup

2000-03-01 by Meyerifkin@aol.com

There has been almost NO activity (contributions) for a long time as far as
the Group's original purpose is concerned, namely the exchange of
non-classical files.

Also anyone not interested in any subject can simply click the "delete"
button even those "very busy people who need to prioritize what they need to
do"

It would be interesting to have a list of the contributions these "very busy
people" have made to the group as far as music is concerned. The purpose of
the Group is not only to TAKE from the Group but to GIVE occasionally also.
How about it?

Dick.
