Yamplayer Beta is Here

Hi All

The Yamplayer is here in Beta form at last.  It was writen by DC and 
here is his email to me.

"The official beta version of YAMplayer is now available as a free 
trial. To register your interest as a beta user, begin with a 
response to this post. 

Beta users are kindly asked to submit feedback in exchange for un-
limited private use of the software.

Special thanks to Midi Magic for providing the concept and for all 
his support and patience during the initial development.

YAMplayer is a versatile midi jukebox for the Microsoft Windows 
platform including support for Win95/98/Me and NT4.0/2000/XP. 
YAMplayer's main features include:

Supports Yamaha's proprietary E-SEQ formats including:
· Disc Orchestra Collection (DOC) files (*.EVT)
· PianoSoft and PianoSoft Plus files (*.FIL)
· Disk directory parsing for Yamaha diskette images

Multiple midi file standards including:
· General Midi (*.MID)
· Resource Interchange File Format (RIFF) Midi (*.RMI)
· Karaoke Files (*.KAR)

Midi output to Clavinova specific features:
· Fix-up for "Disklavier only" songs
· Automatic DOC to XG voice mapping
· User selectable or Automatic Guide Lamp channel

Other features include:

· Selectable midi output devices from any Windows media driver
· Player window with current song title, remaining time or elapsed  
time
· Playlist window for jukebox and song ordering
· Batch conversion of E-SEQ to General Midi
· Convert to GM "on the fly" (as you listen)
· Build playlist from directory tree or entire disk
· Extracts embedded song titles from midi data 
· Export playlist to standard Comma Separated format (CSV)
· Drag and Drop support of songs, playlists and directories
· Powerful voice mapping and individual key mapping support"

All this means that you can play the Disklavier under the control of 
the PC. It will also play PianoSoft disks on the PC's sound card.

Neat stuff- do you plan to add support for playing PianoSoft CDs
via the computer's CDROM drive, or playing WAV file rips of PianoSoft
CDs (so that one can enjoy the same jukebox features with
"piano plus audio" material)?

With these features, you could make it possible to play the newer
CDs on older Disklaviers that lack a CD drive, with more flexibility
than the DCD1 permits.
