Play/Pause flashing when playing Powertracks

Play/Pause flashing when playing Powertracks

2003-12-02 by yamahamale

While using my "Power Tracks" program, about 50 percent of the time,
when I stop a song and then restart it either from the beginning of
the song or from where I stopped it, the Disklavier's Play/Pause
button will start flashing and won't resume the song. The song in the
program will be playing and I can watch the notes played on the
computer but the Disklavier's "Play/Pause" button will be flashing and
the Disklavier will not be playing the song unless I push the
"Play/Pause" button at which point the piano starts again with the
computer. It seems that by pressing the stop function in the "Power
Tracks" program activates the pause on the Disklavier and then doesn't
release it when I restart the song. Does anyone know why this is
happening? Thanks, Mike

You can set up your Disklavier so that its play controls respond to the corresponding messages sent from a MIDI program, and you can set up your Disklavier so that it send remote control messages each time you push its buttons.

It sounds to me as though you have set up PowerTracks to send remote control information AND you have set your Disklavier to receive remote control info.

I am away from a Disklavier at the moment, but I can tell you that you get to these settings on a Mark II or later by pushing Function and moving through the various screens until you see Remote Control OR by pushing Function, entering the MIDI Setup area, and then locating Remote Control.

Sorry that I can't be more specific at the moment.
