Re: [disklavier] converting Disclavier to QRS

Re: [disklavier] converting Disclavier to QRS

I know that the QRS Pianomation system will play standard MIDI files in
format 0. If you have the Chili system you definitely have more options.
If you have MIDI files in format 1, they may need to be converted to format
0. For the Disklavier files, use the ESEQ2MID software (dkvutil) on the
group's website to convert them to MIDI first.

Bob, this looks like it might work. I think the QRS system plays
Pianodisc, and this software converts MIDI to Pianodisc.

The preveious reply about QRS accepting MIDI 0 I do not think is true.

Serial to Host Cable

2003-12-02 by Sam Ho

I connected my PC (Win2000) to a Yamaha TG300 Tone Generator via a "serial
to host" cable. The TG300 is connected to my Disklavier by a Midi cable.
When I play the midi file on my PC with Yamaplayer, there is no signal going
to the TG300. I wondered if I set the "Play Thru" option incorrectly. Please
advise which option should I select.

1) Midi Mapper
2) ESS FM Synthesizer
3) ESS MPU401
4) Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth

Do I need any other software to make it work ?

Thanks,
Sam

It seems that the software driver form yanaha (CBX) it is not
installed yet.

When properly installed it will be shown as one of the input and

If the cable and/or synth did not came with the driver you will have
to download it from a Yamaha site in the UK

Re: [disklavier] Serial to Host Cable

2003-12-02 by Carol Beigel

This is not my area of expertise, but I would think you would connect the
the PC directly to the To Host port on the control box of the Disklavier
using the Yamaha CBX cable. You would also install the CBX driver from the
Yamaha website on your PC. Connect the TG300 to the DKV control box using
the MIDI ports. Choose CBX driver on your PC for the Yamplayer.

BTW, Midi format 0 files work on all players, but not all players can accept
MIDI format 1 files. If you are putting MIDI files on a floppy disk, make
sure you only have the same format on the disk.

Re: Serial to Host Cable

Hi Sam

If you are using the serial to host cable then you will need the
Yamaha's CBX driver. When that is installed you should see it in
the "Play Thru" list. If you have a joystick port then you would use
the ESS MPU401 all the others will use your sound card.
