wireless to sound system?

wireless to sound system?

2004-06-10 by annmeris

Hi Everyone,
I have a DC1A; it is located in my living room, my house is
networked but my receiver is in the family room. Does anyone know of
a wireless system that will allow me to connect the piano to the
receiver?
Thanks,
Ann

Several companies sell both infared (for line of sight) and RF based (for
multi room use) units to accomplish what you need. Most are actually
designed to be used to transmit audio and video from a satellite receiver or
VCR to another TV but using just the audio portion should work fine. Units
are stereo and have acceptable frequency response and distortion specs.
Places like Best Buy carry several models. If you want to get more
elaborate, Shure makes a wireless monitoring system that could be adapted
for your proposed use but it is very pricey.

Radio Shack carries a 2.4 GHz wireless sender/receiver for under $100. I would like to accomplish the same thing with my DC3A. I haven't tried the Radio Shack product, but, I will this weekend.

I friend of mine bought the one from Radio Shack to trasmit video throughout his house instead of running cable and said it works great. I would think you could use it for strictly audio. Rick
