I upgraded my MarkII with a DSR1 and DCD1PS. I updated the DSR1 with the update disc included with the DCD1. I purchased my first Smart disc and when I put it in the DSR1 it does not read it as a Smart disc as detailed in the DCD1 manual. Thus it does not synchronize with the CD. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Try the instructions on my website at www.carolrpt.com. Were there not 2 disks that came with your DCD1+PS? You need to update the software on the DSR-1 as well as install some software on the DCD1 (but the +PS may mean it came to you already updated). Are you using 2 MIDI cables? The DCD1 talks to the the DSR-1 via MIDI cable in and out. Yes I do have two MIDI cables and the unit already had PS on it.In the manual with the DCD1 it says the disc will display "SPS Type Disk" and then will show "PS@GM". My disc just shows SMF disc. I found out I had not enabled the DCD1 mode on the DSR1. Nevertheless the discs do not display on the DSR1 as described in the DCD1 manual but work fine.
